Why?

The Lake Ontario Mid-Single Adults Ward was dissolved. I participated in a forty day fast and prayer. I told people how good it was to be in a Sacrament meeting that wasn't ruined with screaming kids and crying babies. So much effort goes into YSA and YSA Institute which is nothing more than a meat market to get the youngsters pushed into marriage ASAP. I'm tired of feeling this way. I'm sick of being excluded. We have single adult activities but I hardly ever got notified about them.

In Uncertain Times

One thing I realize in life is that Heavenly Father's unconditional love for us does not equate him being unconditionally pleased with us. We can never make Father not love us. That will never happen because he is  love  in the purest form. As to whether we live a life pleasing  to God, that's a different ballgame. We all know the story of how people can slowly drift into sin through the lowering of defenses. One drink here, one look at an image we shouldn't be dwelling on, and we slowly move away from sainthood to sin. The beautiful thing is that the reverse is equally true.  We can move from sin to sainthood by slowly but surely relinquishing the things that hold us captive. Never forget we have the authority of the believer.   As Saints, we have the right to speak to the mountains in our lives.

My Sabrina ( March 2008- December 2017)

http://starfireaok.blogspot.ca/?zx=51e61959d104e16e This is my oldest fur-daughter  Sabrina, who passed from the mortal realm on Sunday, 10 December, 2017. I miss her so much. Her death keeps slipping in on me. It's like it's too big to take it all in at once. I still have my other fur-kids but when I spend time with them it's like it emphasizes that Sabrina is not here. I'm glad to know that I will see her again in the celestial kingdom but it still hurts here and now. I need to be living my faith, not just talking it.

The Gift of Grace

Several years ago, before the Elder Missionaries began teaching me the truth of the restored gospel, I was involved in what is often termed the "Growing in Grace" movement. The basic (fallacious) teaching  of this movement is that the more you sin, the more opportunities you give God to show grace.  I was convinced (I mean, honestly deceived) that every thing I did was covered by grace. I would go on shoplifting sprees and drug binges and praise God that I was covered by the blood of Jesus so the law could no longer apply to me. As extreme as this seems, I really was not alone in being snowed under by this deception. Bad things happen when Scripture is taken out of context. Grace is essential to salvation because we can NOT,{ not ever, no, never} earn salvation.  Latter Day Saints know this as much as any other denomination but  far too many self-professing Christians are taking this out of context and satan is grabbing onto half-truths to  scam the foo...
